How do team subscriptions work?
A Team Subscription allows coaches and players to collaborate under one shared team library while maintaining their own personal space for creating and managing plays.
This article explains how team subscriptions work, how roles are assigned, and how organizations and teams are structured.
What’s Included in a Team Subscription
Each Team Subscription includes:
4 Coach Seats
Each coach gets:
- Their own unlimited personal library
- A coach seat in the shared team library
20 Player Seats
Each player gets:
- Their own freemium personal library (same as a regular free account)
- A player seat in the team library (read-only access)
🏫 Organizations and Teams
When you purchase a team subscription, you automatically create an Organization.
The purchaser becomes the Organization Admin.
- An Organization can include unlimited teams.
- The Organization Admin can manage billing, teams, and roles across all teams.
Example:
If you’re purchasing a team subscription for your school’s varsity team:
Organization Name: Springfield High School
Team Name: Springfield High Varsity
Later, if you add another team, you can create additional teams under the same organization:
Team Name: Springfield High JV
🧑💼 Roles and Permissions
Each invited user is assigned a specific role with different access levels:
Role | Permissions |
|---|---|
Team Admin | Full access to all team plays. Can invite and manage coaches & players. |
Coach | Can create and edit plays but cannot invite or manage members. |
Player | Can view public plays only (read-only access). |
You can change or remove roles for team members at any time.
✉️ Inviting Coaches and Players
Organization or Team Admins can invite new members in two ways:
1. Email Invitation – Send an invite directly from the app.
2. Invite Link – Generate a shareable link to distribute manually.
When the invite is accepted, the user will automatically gain access to the team with the assigned role.
🔁 Managing Multiple Teams and Roles
Every user can belong to multiple teams or organizations — each with different roles.
For example:
Assistant Coach for one team
Team Admin for another
Player for a different organization
Users can switch between their libraries and teams using the dropdown menu in the top-left corner of the app.

💡 Example Setup
Here’s a potential setup for a school or club:
Organization: Springfield High School
Teams:
Springfield High Varsity (Team Subscription #1)
Springfield High JV (Team Subscription #2)
Roles:
Athletic Director → Organization Admin
Varsity Coach → Team Admin (Varsity Team)
JV Coach → Team Admin (JV Team) + (Assistant) Coach for Varsity
Assistant Coaches → Coach
Players → Player
If you’re managing multiple teams (e.g., an athletic director), you can delegate team admin roles to coaches without taking up any coach seats yourself.
